Avelo Training Courses at Allusion Diving
Diving the Avelo system takes its own certification, separate from your regular open water card.
Good news is, it's private instruction with us, so there's no cattle-car classroom and no waiting around for a group to fill up.
New to Diving? Start With the Avelo Diver Course
You don't need any prior scuba certification for this one. The Avelo Diver course combines eLearning you can do on your own schedule with in-water training led by a certified Avelo Instructor. Since the Avelo system holds your buoyancy steady from the start, new divers usually spend less time fighting their gear and more time actually enjoying the dive.

Already Certified? Try Avelo Essentials
If you're already an open water diver (or higher), Avelo Essentials is a two-dive add-on that gets you diving the system on top of your existing certification. Most divers feel the difference by the end of the first dive, and it clicks completely by the second.
What the Training Actually Covers
Every Avelo course covers the basics you'd expect (how the Hydrotank and Jetpack work, how to add and purge water for buoyancy control) plus the safety scenarios that are specific to the system:
- What to do if the battery dies mid-dive (nothing changes, the manual purge valve still works)
- What to do if the pump fails (same answer, buoyancy doesn't change)
- Emergency ascent procedures using the Avelo system
- How rescue and assist scenarios work when the diver you're helping is on Avelo
You'll also get a look at Avelo Edge, the post-dive dashboard that shows your stability, workload, and efficiency after each dive, so your progress is something you can actually see and track, not just something your instructor tells you.
